Ever since humans have taken charge of their lives and governed themselves they have shown that they were unable to do so. Every good social idea and rational social endeavor has sooner or later backfired and made conditions worse than they were. Think of the communist revolutions of the 20th century, the revolution in Iran, Wilson's dream of a League of Nations, the Arab Spring.
People's attempt to govern themselves naturally led to looking for political solutions. However, it soon became apparent that politics was not the answer since it quickly became bogged down in a battle between two divergent outlooks, the views of the Left and the Right. Yet no one has ever asked what is the origin of people's different views of the same social situation creating a conflict between these opposing forces.
This book shows that the problem has to do with the way people look for solutions. They always look from outside of themselves never from within. In Neither Left Nor Right the reader will learn that the origin of humanity's social problems originates not primarily from external political forces impinging on people, but from biological forces operating unconsciously from within their own organism. This is the reason that political solutions always have and always will fail. Therefore, for genuine social improvement to occur there have to be fundamental changes in the way people look and think about themselves and the world. This book provides an in depth understanding of the biological forces at work governing human social and political behavior and thinking.
Neither Left Nor Right picks up where the author's previous book, The Emotional Plague, The Root of Human Evil left off. It is a distillation and an expansion of the political material contained in that book.

A very good explanation of what is happening, where the anger and stubborn need to control others comes from. This is probably why the Roman and other civilizations failed (unless climate change or some other catastrophic natural event wiped them out). The controlling and regulating is always done "to help us". But as in the Bible: "By the fruits of their labors you shall know them." What they work for and cause to happen (not their intentions) is what they really want for us. Their magnanimous intentions are their cover. There are "liberals" and then the hardened communist liberals. The "True liberals" have no defense against the irrational ideals and dogma/agenda, world view of the hardened liberals.Product details

at the same time some questionable ones as well
the book astonishes not by what is in it but by what was left out

Psychiatry which has now become the highly profitable enabler of the pharmaceutical industry
Thank God this book has been written. Anyone who is genuinely concerned about the current state of America and the world should read it.
Whether you are a liberal or a conservative, if you've ever felt that the problems of mankind were not simply from one side or the other, this book will be a welcome eye opener. One example among many is Konia's analysis of the Sexual Revolution of the 1960's in America (Chapter five). The author presents the most integrative and astute view of the genesis of the Sexual Revolution and the social and political chaos that followed I have ever read.
At times Konia's logic moves forward, from one salient point to the next, with such cogency that I found it necessary to reread the text several times to fully grasp what, upon the third reading, appeared very obvious. That said, this is a book that one can reread multiple times and gain a deeper understanding of mankind each time. I recommend this book highly.
This is an incredible book the discovery of the subjective factor in sociology has allowed a new and revolutionary understanding of the reasons for the failure of sociology and politics to solve the enormous social problems we face. This is a book everybody interested in psychology, mass psychology, sociology, politics or in general humanity, should read.
